Giacomo Casanova was an Italian man adored by many women in his time. He was the world's greatest romancer, one that had ladies swooning over him and his offering of love. He was the pre-modern day icon of everything romantic and whimsical.

Today his name appears in a casual Italian restaurant in White Plains, Quezon City called GRAN CAFFE CASANOVA. It's practically a small piece of Italy on Philippine soil, what with the authentic Italian cuisine and slice of Italian culture this new romantic, gastronomic haven offers.

The place boasts of a choice to dine al fresco in a quiet environment surrounded by trees, open spaces, and an overlooking view of the metro's skyline under the twinkling stars – or inside the the quaint shop where the food is prepared with dedication and passion that the Italians are so much known for. After the soup and salad, try their home specials-those that they guarantee you can't find anywhere else-like the Papardelle Nere al Granchio, a home-made squid-ink colored pasta with crab meat in olive oil and white wine, or the Trancio di Tonno con Pepperoni e Mentuccia, which is a chunky piece of yellow fin tuna sauteed in olive oil and served with minted grilled bell peppers and onionade.
